Construction of the new, premium facilities at Olds Park (our clubhouse) has officially been endorsed by Georges River Council, at their meeting on Monday 8th December 2025.
The Council put out a request for tender a few months ago, to select a contractor for the project. The recommended contractor and a revised project budget was put to Council at their December meeting, where representatives from our club, Dale Widders and Kaitlyn Eisenhuth, attended to speak in favour of the project, as well as AFL representative, Nick Baglin.
We are glad to say that the Council voted, unanimously, to endorse the recommendation and to proceed with awarding the contract to the builder.
It is anticipated that the project will be kicking off in early 2026, starting with demolition of the existing clubhouse. We will continue to work with the AFL and Council to finalise plans for the 2026 season, including temporary facilities for the club and playing grounds for the home & away season.

This project is an exciting milestone for our club, that will see us lead into our 100th anniversary with state-of-the-art facilities that are set to be the best in the AFL Sydney competition. It will also bring opportunities to raise our profile, with the potential to solidify our status as a finals venue and attract interest as a potential AFLW venue.
Importantly for our day-to-day operations and players, this new facility will significantly improve player experience on game-day. The new facility includes 4 change rooms, giving our Men’s and Women’s teams dedicated facilities, and improved access to the field, with stair and ramp access directly from the sheds to the field.

We will keep all our players and officials up to date with all important information, as construction approaches.
To prepare for the demolition of the building, we have a big job ahead of us to clear out all St George equipment, furniture and items (beloved trophies and flags). If you are available across January to assist with the clean-up, please reach out to any of the committee members, and we will let you know what dates that will be happening.
The future of St George is looking exciting, and we look forward to starting our next 100 years in this brand new facility!
As we head into 2026, we would like to thank our Dragon’s family for your on-going support and hard work this year, and to wish you all a safe and happy holidays!
See you in 2026!
